Despite what Google Maps says, it is NOT permanently closed. They closed early due to the quality of air from the forest fires in Canada.

There was a lot to do at the Hiawatha Music Festival this year. Unfortunately, the festival got canceled a day early due to the smoke from the wildfires of Minesota and Canada.

Pictured below is a $5 food token that is used to purchase food from the food vendors. All other vendors accepted cash and credit/debit cards. Early in the morning, people could do Yoga at one of the tents.

This was our campsite. We got lucky and got a waterfront spot. Right next to the campsite was some yarrow, which is a medicine you use to help with blood clotting. My wife told me a story where someone’s life was saved after a chainsaw accident. He filled the wound with yarrow to promote blood clotting. Later in the ER, the doctors told him that the yarrow saved his life.

Also, right in front of our campsite, there was a live trap set up to catch a busy beaver. The beaver took down 4 trees in front of our campsite.

Also, found at the park was a Horse Chestnut Tree. The horse chestnut tree (Aesculus hippocastanum) is both poisonous and medically beneficial. All parts of the raw tree are highly poisonous, but its seeds and bark can be processed into a medically beneficial herbal extract.
